英字新聞を読むには各単語の形式を知ることが大事！
英語を勉強し始めたばかりの段階だと、教材と違って英字新聞を読むのはかなり難しいと思います。それぞれの新聞が独自の書き方をもっていたりもするので。なので、僕が補足をつけながら、英字新聞を読むのお手伝いしようと思います。教材の文法には慣れたけど英字新聞はまだ苦手という、初級ー中級あたりの人用の解説です。
何回も言いますが、新聞を読むためには各々の単語が名詞（noun）なのか、形容詞（adjective）なのか、副詞（adverb）なのかがめちゃくちゃ大事になってきます！文法はほんっっっっっっとうに大事です！！！一緒に一つずつやっていきましょう！僕の勉強がわりにもなっているので、僕が知っていることは飛ばしていたりします。なので、何かわからないことがあれば気軽にコメントください。できるだけ答えます！よろしくお願いします 😉

To glorify (verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると“to make someone or something seem more impressive than they really are “ と記載されていますね。
例文：
Politicians have complained that the media glorify drugs.
I didn’t like the way the film glorified war/violence.
The limousine was really just a glorified taxi.
The film glorifies the past too much.
He has been glorified in the press.
The jet-setting life of a flight attendant is usually associated with luxury, excitement and exotic destinations.
But according to those in the business, the behind-the-scenes reality is ‘far from glamorous’.
Annette Long – a flight attendant of 13 years – told Business Insider despite the allure of a high-flying career, it can be physically demanding, tiring and lonely life.
jet setting (adjective)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると名詞 jet set は ” rich, fashionable people who travel around the world enjoying themselves ” と記載されていますね。その形容詞です。

insider (noun)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると ” someone within an organization or group who knows about all the things happening in it ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
According to a council insider, the library’s budget is to be cut again.
According to insiders, the committee is having difficulty making up its mind.
His books have made him an insider in the music world.
allure (adjective)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” a special, exciting, and attractive quality that someone or something has ” というふうに記載されていますね。
例文：
the allure of working in television
sexual allure
the allure of gambling
The allure of the stage drew him back to acting.
Other airline employees disputed the myth that it is an easy job or the vocation is simply that of a ‘glorified waitress’.
‘It takes years to get to the point where customers don’t see you sweat and you give excellent customer service,’ another worker said.
‘Our job is dangerous, physically demanding, and laden with immense responsibility for the safety, security, and survival of our passengers.’
The anonymous flight employees also reminded passengers that they are far from being unintelligent or uneducated and most have to jump through many hoops to land the job.
To dispute (verb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” to disagree with something that someone says ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
I don’t dispute (that) his movies are entertaining, but they don’t have much depth.
Many people would dispute that statement.
I don’t dispute her ability, but what I question is her attitude.
laden with (adjective)
Cambridge Dictionary によると” carrying or holding a lot of something: ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
He always comes back from France laden with presents for everyone.
The table, as always, was laden with food.
Passengers got off the train laden with boxes and suitcases.
immense (adjective)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” extremely large “と記載されていますね。
例文：
immense distances
An immense amount of money has already been spent on the project.
The pressure on students during exam time can be immense.
They spent an immense amount of time getting the engine into perfect condition.
survival (noun)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” the fact of a person, organization, etc. continuing to live or exist: “というふうに記載されていますね。
例文：
The doctors told my wife I had a 50/50 chance of survival.
His main concern is to ensure his own political survival.
England are fighting for survival (= trying not to be defeated) in this game.
In these jungle areas, every day is a fight for survival.
far from
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” not at all ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
We were far from disappointed when they told us they couldn’t come to visit.
The battle is far from over.
jump through hoops
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to perform a series of difficult tests to show that you are suitable for something ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
There are so many hoops to jump through that a lot of people give up.
To land a job (verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to get something that you wanted, especially a job or opportunity ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
He was hoping to land the job on a permanent basis.
He landed a senior editorial job.
At the age of 19 she landed a small role in a West End play.
Some also added that it is simply wrong to assume all fight attendants ‘sleep around’ or that they can be found in the beds of strangers around the world – and say it is untrue that all male flight attendants are gay.
‘We may be married with children, not looking for dates for the night on the plane,’ one said.
Married with children は結婚して子供がいる状態ということです。 「～と結婚している(状態)」なら「married to ～,」、「～と結婚する」なら、前置詞はとらず「marry ～」です。
And others were happy to dispel the myth that upgrades to first class or business class can be doled out like lollipops.
According to those in the flight industry: ‘A change or upgrade can get you fired these days. And it’s not worth our jobs.’
dole out (phrasal verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to give something, such as food or money, to a particular group of people or to every person in a group ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
Please dole out the candy bars, one to a customer.
The teacher doled pencils out to the students.
The government has agreed to dole out an additional £5 million to schools.
