英字新聞を読むには各単語の形式を知ることが大事！
英語を勉強し始めたばかりの段階だと、教材と違って英字新聞を読むのはかなり難しいと思います。それぞれの新聞が独自の書き方をもっていたりもするので。なので、僕が補足をつけながら、英字新聞を読むのお手伝いしようと思います。教材の文法には慣れたけど英字新聞はまだ苦手という、初級ー中級あたりの人用の解説です。
何回も言いますが、新聞を読むためには各々の単語が名詞（noun）なのか、形容詞（adjective）なのか、副詞（adverb）なのかがめちゃくちゃ大事になってきます！文法はほんっっっっっっとうに大事です！！！一緒に一つずつやっていきましょう！僕の勉強がわりにもなっているので、僕が知っていることは飛ばしていたりします。なので、何かわからないことがあれば気軽にコメントください。できるだけ答えます！よろしくお願いします 😉

culprit (noun)
Macmillan Dictionary によると ” someone who is responsible for doing something bad or illegal “という風に記載されていますね。
例文：
Police have so far failed to find the culprits.
Police hope the public will help them to find the culprits.
Two eyewitnesses identified her as the culprit.
Police are looking for a couple who vandalized a Native American site in Illinois with a love heart containing their initials.
On Monday, a man and woman visited Starved Rock State Park and scribbled dark-hued messages on what is known as Council Overhang, a cavern-like formation on the east end of the park.

An image of the pair, apparently in their twenties, and the vandalism was posted on Instagram, which triggered an investigation by Illinois Conservation Police, the Journal Star reported.

Macmillan Dictionary によるとJohn Doeは ” a man whose name is not known. The name for such a woman is Jane Doe. “、 Jane Doeは ” a woman whose name is not known. The name for such a man is John Doe. “という風に記載されていますね。

Park Superintendent Kerry Novak told the Journal Star that a witness came into Starve Rock administration office on September 2 to report seeing two people deface the wall at Council Overhang.
They also claimed the pair took a picture of the graffiti and putting it on Instagram.

Macmillan Dictionary によると” related to explaining or understanding the meaning of something: “という風に記載されていますね。

superintendent (noun)
Macmillan Dictionary によると ” a senior police officer in the UK “と、” someone who is in charge of something, for example a hospital, railway, or school ” という風に記載されていますね。
To deface (verb)
Cambridge Dictionary によると ” to damage and spoil the appearance of something by writing or drawing on it: “という風に記載されていますね。
例文：
He was fined for defacing library books.
They used spray paint to deface the sign.
Novak then searched the social media platform himself and found the incriminating photo.
Novak said ‘they seemed pretty proud of it,’ and described the vandalism as ‘disrespectful’.
He added: ‘If you bring your family here, you want to see a beautiful natural area. You don’t want to see this sort of thing.’
He said he wasn’t certain what was used by them to scrawl on the wall. The photo appears to show ‘B+K’ inside a heart, but the other wording remains unclear.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the photo in the post is authentic.
