英字新聞を読むには各単語の形式を知ることが大事！
英語を勉強し始めたばかりの段階だと、教材と違って英字新聞を読むのはかなり難しいと思います。それぞれの新聞が独自の書き方をもっていたりもするので。なので、僕が補足をつけながら、英字新聞を読むのお手伝いしようと思います。教材の文法には慣れたけど英字新聞はまだ苦手という、初級ー中級あたりの人用の解説です。
何回も言いますが、新聞を読むためには各々の単語が名詞（noun）なのか、形容詞（adjective）なのか、副詞（adverb）なのかがめちゃくちゃ大事になってきます！文法はほんっっっっっっとうに大事です！！！一緒に一つずつやっていきましょう！僕の勉強がわりにもなっているので、僕が知っていることは飛ばしていたりします。なので、何かわからないことがあれば気軽にコメントください。できるだけ答えます！よろしくお願いします 😉

Neal Strassner, said a worker at Greater Rochester International Airport in Monroe County, New York, gave him the note as he was passing through the security checkpoint.
Footage of the incident obtained by Strassner which happened in late June shows the as yet unidentified worker handing him the note and she laughs as he passes by.
Strassner looks at her confused and then walks away, as she is seen laughing and speaking to a colleague in the footage obtained by another airport passenger.
As he walked towards his gate, he heard the worker shouting back at him, ‘You going to open the note?.’

The airport worker was later fired following an investigation by TSA. Strassner told WROC that he didn’t know what to make of the incident.
He explained: ‘I got handed a note, I didn’t really think too much of it. I just kept going. I had 10 minutes to get to my gate.
‘That’s what I was focused on and I kept going, the woman called back to me are you going to open that? Are you going to look or something like that?
He was then surprised to read the words, “You ugly!!!” on the piece of brown paper and reported the incident to a security supervisor in the airport.
Strassner said he was fine but worried others might be offended if they received the same note.
He added: ‘I’m assuming it was meant to be a joke I don’t think she was maliciously trying to insult people, but you really don’t know if somebody was in that mindset, and they received that piece of paper. It would throw them back to a dark mental place.

Strassner told WROC he made a Freedom of Information request the airport and it took more than a month for him to get access to the video in June.

The airport worker was not an official employee of TSA or the Rochester airport. However she is employed through VMD Corp, a Virginia-based security company.
In airports throughout the country, TSA hires independent security companies through a Virginia-based security company
TSA officials confirmed the employee was terminated after they investigated the incident.
In a statement to WROC they said: ‘TSA holds contractors to the highest ethical standards and has zero tolerance for this type of behavior.
‘This instance, which involved a contract employee, was investigated immediately upon receiving the complaint by the traveler. The employee has since been terminated by the contractor.’
The airport worker is later seen beginning to write another note in the footage, and it remains unclear whether she handed out offensive notes to other passengers.
Srassner claimed he is curious if anyone else has had a similar experience coming through the Rochester airport.
He told WROC: ‘I’m really curious what the other notes said. I travel a lot and the airport normally is spectacular.
‘This was a totally weird event that they [VMD Corp.] seemed to handle properly. I travel a lot and just want to make sure they get some credit to their organization and don’t let one lady trash their whole reputation.’

buy into (phrasal verb)
Macmillan Dictionary によると ” to start to do something that a lot of other people are doing, or to believe something that a lot of other people believe “という風に記載されていますね。インフォーマルな表現です。
例文：
I don’t buy into all that New Age stuff.
You don’t buy into all this nonsense, do you?
To create an effective brand, you need to convince people to buy into it.
craze (noun)
Macmillan Dictionary によると ” something that suddenly becomes very popular, but for only a short time “という風に記載されています。
例文：
the craze for Irish music
The craze for health foods has become big business.
Cycling shorts were the latest craze/(all) the craze that year.
tidy (adjective)
Macmillan Dictionary によると ” a tidy amount of money is a large amount “という風に記載されていますね。
例文：
The sale of the company brought in a tidy sum.
He made a tidy sum/profit.
His business deals make him a tidy sum.
New data collected by eBay has discovered that almost 250,000 VHS tapes have been sold on the online selling platform in the past 12 months.
Additionally, it revealed more than three million dollars has been spent on VHS tapes by eBay buyers.
If you have an undiscovered horde of Disney VHS tapes but aren’t sure if these are worth selling, check first to see if any are part of the ‘Black Diamond Collection’.

Cambridge Dictionary によると ” a large group, esp. of people: “という風に記載されています。

These tapes were released between 1984 and 1994.
The diamond logo, which includes the words ‘The Classics’, can be found on the spine of the case or printed directly on the tape.
Another way of determining if your collection is worth selling is to check for the slogan ‘A Walt Disney Classic’.
This phrase can be found printed on the tape above the title of the movie.

Cambridge Dictionary によると ” the narrow strip where the cover of a book is joined to the pages, usually with the title and writer’s name printed on it “という風に記載されています。
