Burger King has unveiled a selection of meals designed to suit a variety of different moods, as it aims to spread the message that ‘no one is happy all the time’.

The new options, dubbed ‘Real Meals’, are inspired by a selection of different moods, including the Pissed Meal, Blue Meal, Salty Meal, YAAAS Meal, and DGAF Meal. However, ‘happy’ is not one of the choices.

The idea behind the new Real Meals, which were unveiled on Wednesday, May 1, is to celebrate ‘being yourself’ and feeling ‘however you want to feel’.

‘A natural extension of encouraging people to “be their way” is encouraging them to “feel their way.”

‘With the pervasive nature of social media, there is so much pressure to appear happy and perfect,’ it added.

And with the release of Real Meals, the brand wants to bring awareness to the importance of mental health and celebrate ‘being yourself’ and ‘feeling however you want to feel’.

To help bring attention to the cause, the burger chain partnered with Mental Health America on the campaign and selected May for launch as it is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental Health America is the nation’s leading community-based non-profit dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and to promoting the overall mental health of all Americans.

The non-profit organization took to Twitter to announce its involvement in the campaign on Wednesday, saying: ‘We teamed up with @BurgerKing to bring #mentalhealth awareness to the table.

例文:

‘Feelings aren’t facts, but they’re real and so are you. It’s ok to not be ok, so #FeelYourWay this #MentalHealthMonth.’

The boxed meals can be ordered with the purchase of a ‘whopper’ meal, which includes a burger, french fries and a beverage.

In support of the launch of the campaign, the brand released a film that takes an intimate and raw look into the reality of ‘feeling your way’ that’s both empathetic and celebratory.

The clip sees a number of different people revealing how they feel.

The film also commemorates the classic Have It Your Way track from the 1970s Burger King commercials.

However, the track was given a modernized twist on the iconic track that abandons the shiny and happy and instead follows individuals staying true to themselves.

The chorus of “have it your way” is swapped out with “feel your way”.

And since the launch of Real Meals, people have praised Burger King for being involved in raising awareness for issues surrounding mental health.

After announcing the news on Twitter on Wednesday, the tweet became inundated with numerous comments from fans of the new campaign.

One Twitter user commented on the announcement, saying: ‘Thank you burger king, very cool,’ while another said: ‘I’ll take one. Didn’t expect this real commercial about struggle and mental health issues but I’ll take it with a Whopper meal.’

A different user said: ‘I’m sick of everyone telling me how I should smile all the time. Give me one of the DGAF meals.’

Meanwhile, president and CEO of Mental Health America, Paul Gionfriddo, said: ‘Great job, Burger King. You’re making a difference, and we at @MentalHealthAm are happy to help!’

The meals are available for a limited time only at select restaurants in Austin, Seattle, Miami, Los Angeles and New York City.

Burger King’s new launch comes on the back of another exciting announcement: the fast food chain will be rolling out plant-based, meat-free burgers across the nation after experiencing such success with its initial trial.

In fact, the Impossible Whoppers, as they are known, are proving so popular that the company behind them – Impossible Foods – has admitted that it may well come up against a shortage in the upcoming months.

Impossible Foods issued a statement Tuesday saying it was stretched thin because of growth in ‘every sales category’ where it does business, including restaurants, theme parks and college campuses. The company is struggling from ‘demand greatly outstripping supply.’
