英字新聞を読むには各単語の形式を知ることが大事！
英語を勉強し始めたばかりの段階だと、教材と違って英字新聞を読むのはかなり難しいと思います。それぞれの新聞が独自の書き方をもっていたりもするので。なので、僕が補足をつけながら、英字新聞を読むのお手伝いしようと思います。教材の文法には慣れたけど英字新聞はまだ苦手という、初級ー中級あたりの人用の解説です。
何回も言いますが、新聞を読むためには各々の単語が名詞（noun）なのか、形容詞（adjective）なのか、副詞（adverb）なのかがめちゃくちゃ大事になってきます！文法はほんっっっっっっとうに大事です！！！一緒に一つずつやっていきましょう！僕の勉強がわりにもなっているので、僕が知っていることは飛ばしていたりします。なので、何かわからないことがあれば気軽にコメントください。できるだけ答えます！よろしくお願いします 😉

To hover (verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” if a bird, insect, or aircraft hovers, it keeps itself in the same position in the air “ 記載されていますね。

shoot off (phrasal verb)

To obscure (verb)

supposed (adjective)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” believed or said by some people to be true, although you may not agree with this ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
He explained the supposed economic benefits of lower taxes.

spotter (noun)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” someone who enjoys watching things of a particular type, especially trains or planes ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
a train/bird spotter
sighting (noun)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” an occasion when you see something, especially something unusual or something that you have been looking for ” と記載されていますね。
日本語でいう「目撃」です。
例文：
This is the first sighting of this particularly rare bird in this country.

a reported sighting of a UFO.
This is the moment alien hunters believe they spotted an extra-terrestrial aircraft flying above them.
The sighting in the Philippines shows an object obscured by clouds, but still vaguely visible from a moving vehicle and seemingly high above nearby trees.
In the 20-second clip, which was uploaded to YouTube channel SecureTeam 10, the tip of the structure can be seen poking above clouds, becoming clearer as the narrator increases the contrast of the footage.

vaguely (adverb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” in a way that is not clear ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
He vaguely remembered his mother talking about it.
I vaguely remembered having met her before.
a vaguely worded statement of regret
structure (noun)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” the way in which the parts of something are organized or arranged into a whole ” と記載されていますね。
しかし、ここでの意味は ” something that has been made or built from parts, especially a large building “になります。
例文：
The street is lined with modern steel and glass structures.
The bridge is the longest steel structure in the world.
the structure of DNA
Chapter 10 discusses the changing structure of agriculture in this country.

They have a very old-fashioned management structure.
To poke (verb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” to (cause something to) appear or stretch out from behind or through something else ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
Cathy poked her head round the door to say hello.
The first green shoots are poking up through the soil.
narrator (noun)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” someone who tells the story in a novel or film ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
His voice is familiar as the narrator of hundreds of documentaries.
Michael Caine is the narrator in the documentary film.
To increase (verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to (make something) become larger in amount or size “ と記載されていますね。
例文：
We need to increase public awareness of the disease.
Our main aim is to increase sales by 12% this year.
He concedes the viewers that the UFO is ‘hard to see’ in the ‘original footage’ due to trees obscuring it as it appears to hover under a telephone line.
‘There’s trees passing by but you can still see it vaguely in the background,’ he says, before sharpening the image to increase the object’s visibility.
To concede (verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to admit that something is true, or to allow something:” と記載されていますね。

Then, in 2004, it is claimed more than 10 UFOs were sighted in Las Piñas at around 7pm on August 28.
In 2011 there were reports of red, large UFOs in Bulcan, which were followed by sightings in Cavite.
And in April 2015 motionless lights were reported to be hovering in a v-formation in Lubao-Pampanga.
To follow (verb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” to happen or come after something: “ 記載されていますね。
例文：
The wedding will be followed by a reception.
We had soup followed by roast lamb with spring vegetables.
motionless (adjective)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” without moving “ 記載されていますね。
例文：
He lay motionless on the bed.
The horse lay motionless on the ground, as if dead.
He looks made of stone, utterly motionless (= completely without movement).
