英字新聞を読むには各単語の形式を知ることが大事！
英語を勉強し始めたばかりの段階だと、教材と違って英字新聞を読むのはかなり難しいと思います。それぞれの新聞が独自の書き方をもっていたりもするので。なので、僕が補足をつけながら、英字新聞を読むのお手伝いしようと思います。教材の文法には慣れたけど英字新聞はまだ苦手という、初級ー中級あたりの人用の解説です。
何回も言いますが、新聞を読むためには各々の単語が名詞（noun）なのか、形容詞（adjective）なのか、副詞（adverb）なのかがめちゃくちゃ大事になってきます！文法はほんっっっっっっとうに大事です！！！一緒に一つずつやっていきましょう！僕の勉強がわりにもなっているので、僕が知っていることは飛ばしていたりします。なので、何かわからないことがあれば気軽にコメントください。できるだけ答えます！よろしくお願いします 😉

Ellipse は楕円という意味ですが、ここでは単に公園の名前です。

Urban Dictionaryによると” Literally translated means this is not the first time I have done this “ というふうに記載されていますね。

The inflatable, which was originally created in China last year to celebrate the Year of the Rooster, made headlines after it was compared to the newly elected US President.

Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to become famous by being reported in the news ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
The latest scandal to hit the headlines is about a minister’s son arrested for drug-dealing.
He hit the headlines two years ago when he was arrested for selling drugs to the mayor’s nephew.
To compare (verb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると比較するという表現以外に、” to consider or suggest that something is similar or equal to something else ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
Instant coffee doesn’t compare with freshly ground coffee.
You can’t compare the two cities – they’re totally different.
People compared her to Elizabeth Taylor.
Protesters were able to order the inflatable chicken online and some are still available on eBay for $500. They are being sold under the headline: ‘Custom made 10 feet portable inflatable Donald trump chicken mascot golden hair.’
ここのヘッドラインは文字通りのヘッドライン（見出し）という意味です。
Trump was nowhere near the White House on Wednesday as he is currently on vacation at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
nowhere (adverb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” not in any place, or not to any place ” と記載されていますね。
