英字新聞を読むには各単語の形式を知ることが大事！
英語を勉強し始めたばかりの段階だと、教材と違って英字新聞を読むのはかなり難しいと思います。それぞれの新聞が独自の書き方をもっていたりもするので。なので、僕が補足をつけながら、英字新聞を読むのお手伝いしようと思います。教材の文法には慣れたけど英字新聞はまだ苦手という、初級ー中級あたりの人用の解説です。
何回も言いますが、新聞を読むためには各々の単語が名詞（noun）なのか、形容詞（adjective）なのか、副詞（adverb）なのかがめちゃくちゃ大事になってきます！文法はほんっっっっっっとうに大事です！！！一緒に一つずつやっていきましょう！僕の勉強がわりにもなっているので、僕が知っていることは飛ばしていたりします。なので、何かわからないことがあれば気軽にコメントください。できるだけ答えます！よろしくお願いします 😉

To threaten (verb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” to tell someone that you will kill or hurt them or cause problems if they do not do what you want ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
They threatened the shopkeeper with a gun.
They threatened to kill him unless he did as they asked.
The terrorists are threatening to kill the hostages.
To toss (verb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” to throw something carelessly ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
He tossed his dirty clothes on the floor.
Let’s toss a coin to see who’ll go first.
Andrew tossed him the ball. (To giveと同じ使い方ですね)
Matthew tossed the ball to his brother. (To giveと同じ使い方ですね)

To storm (verb)

go on (phrasal verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to start doing a particular activity or being in a particular state ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
We’re going on holiday next week.
I really must go on a diet!
tirade (noun)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” a long, angry speech expressing strong disapproval ” という意味です。
例文：
My father’s tirades against politicians were famous.
She launched into an angry/furious tirade about how she had been unfairly treated.

irate (adjective)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” very angry ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
an irate customer
We have received some irate phone calls from customers.

To find someone doing = で誰かが〇〇しているのを見つけるですね。
・’The officer ‘had to take multiple steps‘ to extract his arm in order to keep himself from tripping and possible falling under the car,’ said an arrest report
To keep someone doing = で誰かが〇〇するのを防ぐですね。
To extract (verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to remove something from a particular place ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
He opened a drawer and extracted a file.
The tooth was eventually extracted.

face chargeで告訴されるです。 (charge は accuse formally という意味もあります)
To assault (verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to attack someone violently ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
An elderly woman was assaulted and robbed.
A woman and a man have been convicted of assaulting a police officer.
He had attempted to sexually assault the woman.
threat (noun)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると“a statement that someone will be hurt or harmed, esp. if the person does not do something in particular:“と記載されていますね。
例文：
She was fired after making threats to her co-workers.
conduct (noun)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” the way someone behaves, especially in relation to particular rules or accepted ways of behaving “と記載されていますね。
例文：
Two players were sent off for violent conduct.
His conduct at the meeting was inappropriate.
A bitter Wendy’s customer in Pennsylvania threatened the life of an employee because he felt he had been cheated out of cucumber in his salad.

bitter (adjective)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” feeling angry or upset because of a bad experience, especially when you think that you have been treated unfairly “と記載されていますね。
例文：
a bitter dispute/divorce case
I feel very bitter about my childhood and all that I went through.
cheat someone out of something (phrasal verb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” to unfairly prevent someone from getting or achieving something that they should have “と記載されていますね。
例文：
She claimed that her cousin had cheated her out of her inheritance.
He was accused of cheating investors out of their life savings.
Theodore Gunderson Jr stormed into an Earl Township, Pennsylvania, Wendy’s on Sunday and went on a tirade about how more cucumbers could have been put in his salad.
‘If I had a gun or knife you would be the first to go,’ Gunderson said to an employee.
ここでのthe first to goは真っ先に犠牲者になるという訳がいいでしょう。
Officers from the New Holland police arrived on the scene where they said they found Gunderson sitting in his vehicle and refusing to get out.

Macmillan Dictionaryによると” a place where something happens, usually something bad ” と記載されていますね。
例文：
The paramedics will be at the scene within a few minutes.

Officer Michael Specht said the man eventually rolled his window down where he was told he was under arrest.
roll down (phrasal verb)
Macmillan Dictionary によると” if you roll a car window down, you turn a handle or push a button so that the window goes down “ と記載されていますね。
But when they tried to detain his keys, Gunderson started driving away.
To detain (verb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” to force someone officially to stay in a place “と記載されていますね！
例文：
A 29-year-old man was detained for questioning.
A suspect is being detained by the police for further questioning.
