英字新聞を読むには各単語の形式を知ることが大事！
英語を勉強し始めたばかりの段階だと、教材と違って英字新聞を読むのはかなり難しいと思います。それぞれの新聞が独自の書き方をもっていたりもするので。なので、僕が補足をつけながら、英字新聞を読むのお手伝いしようと思います。教材の文法には慣れたけど英字新聞はまだ苦手という、初級ー中級あたりの人用の解説です。
何回も言いますが、新聞を読むためには各々の単語が名詞（noun）なのか、形容詞（adjective）なのか、副詞（adverb）なのかがめちゃくちゃ大事になってきます！文法はほんっっっっっっとうに大事です！！！一緒に一つずつやっていきましょう！僕の勉強がわりにもなっているので、僕が知っていることは飛ばしていたりします。なので、何かわからないことがあれば気軽にコメントください。できるだけ答えます！よろしくお願いします 😉

Colin Dictionaryによると” lacking or not wearing a shirt; bare-chested “ というふうに記載されていますね。
例文：
He wanders around shirtless for a while like a gladiator.
He didn’t want to be seen as the shirtless guy any more.

Macmillan Dictionaryによると ” a small raised area where someone stands to give a speech or conduct an orchestra “ と記載されています。
例文：

in and around
Macmillan Dictionaryによると ” in or close to a place or area “ と記載されていますね。
例文：
People living in and around the Chernobyl area were the worst affected.
insist on doing something (phrasal verb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると ” to keep doing something, even if it annoys other people, or people think it is not good for you: “ と記載されていますね。ここではネガティブではなく、中立的な表現で使われています。
例文：
I don’t know why you insist on talking about it.
Why do you insist on leaving your dirty clothes all over the floor?
And he was delighted with his performance in Pyeongchang, especially as he managed to avoid falling on the course.

Taufatofua managed to finish 114th of 119 competitors, with two finishing behind him and the others not finishing or being disqualified during the event.

take up (phrasal verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると ” to start doing something regularly as a habit, job, or interest “ と記載されていますね。
例文：
I’m not very good at golf – I only took it up recently.
I took up smoking when I was at school.
Chris has taken up jogging.
