英字新聞を読むには各単語の形式を知ることが大事！
英語を勉強し始めたばかりの段階だと、教材と違って英字新聞を読むのはかなり難しいと思います。それぞれの新聞が独自の書き方をもっていたりもするので。なので、僕が補足をつけながら、英字新聞を読むのお手伝いしようと思います。教材の文法には慣れたけど英字新聞はまだ苦手という、初級ー中級あたりの人用の解説です。
何回も言いますが、新聞を読むためには各々の単語が名詞（noun）なのか、形容詞（adjective）なのか、副詞（adverb）なのかがめちゃくちゃ大事になってきます！文法はほんっっっっっっとうに大事です！！！一緒に一つずつやっていきましょう！僕の勉強がわりにもなっているので、僕が知っていることは飛ばしていたりします。なので、何かわからないことがあれば気軽にコメントください。できるだけ答えます！よろしくお願いします 😉

Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell had a personal message in response to Wednesday’s shooting at a Florida high school that left 17 dead, and he shared it while playing against Phoenix Suns later that night.
The son of a school teacher who grew up in Connecticut at the time of the Sandy Hook massacre penned ‘Pray for Parkland’ and ‘End Gun Violence’ on his shoes just hours after news broke about the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. And since he dominated the ball while scoring a team-high 24 points in the win, the black magic marker on his shoes was hard for cameras to miss.
‘My mom’s a schoolteacher,’ the 21-year-old Mitchell told reporters afterwards, as reported by ABC News. ‘I was about 15, 20 minutes away during the Sandy Hook shooting. It’s kind of scary. I’m not saying all shootings make me feel the same way, but especially school shootings, with my mom being a nursery teacher, it’s kind of scary that that could happen at any moment, anywhere.

Mitchell was not even three years of age on April 20, 1999, when two seniors in Colorado shot and killed 12 classmates and one teacher at Columbine High School. Since then, there have been 25 fatal shootings at in American schools.
And to the University of Louisville product, much of the problem stems from easy access to assault weapons.
‘We definitely have to do something about it,’ he said. ‘A lot of people, we talk about it, and there’s a lot of so-called awareness of it, but there’s nothing being done. I looked something up, and the same gun that was used in Vegas, Orlando, Sandy Hook, and I’m missing more. It’s interesting how it just continues to happen, and the movement doesn’t do much.’

古い表現です。

phenom (noun)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” someone or something extremely successful, especially someone young in sports who achieves a lot very quickly: “ と記載されていますね。
