英字新聞を読むには各単語の形式を知ることが大事！
英語を勉強し始めたばかりの段階だと、教材と違って英字新聞を読むのはかなり難しいと思います。それぞれの新聞が独自の書き方をもっていたりもするので。なので、僕が補足をつけながら、英字新聞を読むのお手伝いしようと思います。教材の文法には慣れたけど英字新聞はまだ苦手という、初級ー中級あたりの人用の解説です。
何回も言いますが、新聞を読むためには各々の単語が名詞（noun）なのか、形容詞（adjective）なのか、副詞（adverb）なのかがめちゃくちゃ大事になってきます！文法はほんっっっっっっとうに大事です！！！一緒に一つずつやっていきましょう！僕の勉強がわりにもなっているので、僕が知っていることは飛ばしていたりします。なので、何かわからないことがあれば気軽にコメントください。できるだけ答えます！よろしくお願いします 😉

まずは見出しをみていきましょう。

ここでのTo seeはCambridge Dictionary によると” to understand, know, or realize “ になります。
demand (noun)
Cambridge dictionaryによると” a strong request “と記載されていますね！

Macmillan Dictionary によると” to start doing something in a determined or enthusiastic way “と記載されていますね！ 受動態になって入るので、setの前にbe動詞が入り、setは過去形になっています。

Cambridge Dictionary によると” physical or mental activity needed to achieve something “と記載されていますね！
例文：

To meet (verb)
Cambridge Dictionary によると” to fulfil, satisfy, or achieve “と記載されていますね！
例文：
The water won’t meet the needs of the local population.
We haven’t yet been able to find a house that meets our needs/requirements.
On Wednesday, Keisuke Yui, founder of hotel operator nine hours Inc., said his firm usually builds capsule hotels for both male and female customers. But because the available land was quite limited at the new location, they opted to narrow the focus.
Narrow the focus で”焦点を絞る”です。
available (adjective)
Macmillan Dictionary によると” able to be bought or used ” もしくは ” not too busy to do something ” と記載されていますね。

To opt (verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to make a choice or decision from a range of possibilities “と載っていますね。
例文：

Mike opted for early retirement.
“We decided to make this hotel for women because there are not many such facilities, especially capsule hotels,” Yui said during a preview event for the hotel on Wednesday.

Macmillan Dictionaryによると” an opportunity to see something such as a play, film, or work of art before it is shown to the public “と載っていますね!
例文：

develop (verb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによるとここでの意味は” to invent something or bring something into existence ” もしくは “to bring or come into existence”と載っていますね!
例文：
We have to develop a new policy/strategy to deal with the problem.
The company is spending $650 million on developing new products/technology.
jointly (adverb)
Cambridge Dictionaryによると” done by or involving two or more people or organizations “と載っていますね!
例文：
The training centre is jointly funded by the government and local industries.
an aircraft that is being developed jointly with the US
“Now that society is seeing more working women, we thought this kind of 24-hour facility where they can come in anytime would be a good service,” he said.
ここでのis seeingは “社会が見ている”です。日本語に訳しづらいですが、時代や社会が主語になりこういう表現になることが英語では多々あります。ここが英語と日本語のもっとも違うところの一つですので頭に入れておいてください。
Yui said his firm noticed a need for capsule hotels for women, as nine hours has been seeing female customers at its four other locations.
ここでのseeingも同じです。9 hour ホテルは４つの他の場所で、女性客を見てきたということです。（lookではなく、seeが使われてい流のがポイントです。lookだと意識的に見る感じが強いので、seeの方が自然に目に入る感じがしますね）
While many in Japan may have the perception that capsule hotels are for middle-aged men, recent trends apparently differ.
perception (noun)

To differ (verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” to be different from something else “と載っていますね!
例文：
American English and British English obviously differ in pronunciation.
Due to a surge in international travelers, Tokyo has been facing a shortage of hotels, so the number of capsule hotels — which are easier to build compared to more complex hotels — has been increasing in recent years, according to a report published by the Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Institute last year.

Macmillan Dictionaryによると、”if equipment operates, it works and does what it is intended to do” と “ if an organization or company operates, it does its work ” と記載されていますね。ここでは後者の方です。

along with (phrase)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると” used for mentioning additional people or things that are also included or involved in something “と載っていますね!
例文：
Ramos was arrested along with eleven other men.
最後に、内容が理解でき、新しい単語も知ることができたら、必ずCambridge Dictionaryか、Macmillan Dictionaryで例文を読むようにしてください。そして一番シンプルで、自分が日常使いしときやすそうなもをノートやスマホに書き溜めておいてください。そしてこれを移動中の時などに声に出して覚えることが本当に大事です！（電車では難しいので、僕はよく歩きますw）
