英字新聞を読むには各単語の形式を知ることが大事！
英語を勉強し始めたばかりの段階だと、教材と違って英字新聞を読むのはかなり難しいと思います。それぞれの新聞が独自の書き方をもっていたりもするので。なので、僕が補足をつけながら、英字新聞を読むのお手伝いしようと思います。教材の文法には慣れたけど英字新聞はまだ苦手という、初級ー中級あたりの人用の解説です。
何回も言いますが、新聞を読むためには各々の単語が名詞（noun）なのか、形容詞（adjective）なのか、副詞（adverb）なのかがめちゃくちゃ大事になってきます！文法はほんっっっっっっとうに大事です！！！一緒に一つずつやっていきましょう！僕の勉強がわりにもなっているので、僕が知っていることは飛ばしていたりします。なので、何かわからないことがあれば気軽にコメントください。できるだけ答えます！よろしくお願いします 😉

To wedge (verb)

sturdy (adjective)
Macmillan Dictionary によると ” strong and not easily hurt, damaged, or affected by what happens “という風に記載されていますね。
例文：
sturdy walking boots
a sturdy table
sturdy little legs
That ladder doesn’t look sturdy enough to hold you.
Going down on one knee to ask someone for their hand in marriage is scary enough for most husbands-to-be.
But Kristian Richards took it one step further by proposing 3,000ft up on a boulder wedged perilously between two cliffs.
Mr Richards, 33, from the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, took his girlfriend Bex Morley in Kjeragbolten, Norway to pop the question in the most dramatic way.

perilously (adverb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると ” in a way that is dangerous or that can cause serious problems “という風に記載されていますね。
pop the question (phrase)
Macmillan Dictionary によると ” to ask someone to marry you “という風に記載されていますね。
例文：
So did he pop the question, then?
He told The Sun: ‘Most people are terrified their girlfriend might say no — but I had other things to worry about.
‘I was worried I’d drop the ring. If it went, we weren’t getting it back.’
Fortunately Ms Morley said yes and they soon returned to safer ground.
The factory worker said: ‘It was scary but Bex was more worried than me. She said yes — but I think she just wanted to get off the boulder.’
The couple had been hiking in Norway before Mr Richards took her on to the precarious boulder.
Kjeragbolten is a popular tourist destination because of the unusual geographic phenomenon.
The rock is around five metres cubed and it is accessible without any climbing gear and is a popular site for base jumping.

Macmillan Dictionary によると ” likely to change or become dangerous without warning “という風に記載されていますね。
例文：
I climbed onto a precarious platform to get a better view.
a precarious chimney
Many borrowers now find themselves caught in a precarious financial position.
To cube (verb)
Macmillan Dictionaryによると ” to cut cheese, bread, or other food into cubes “という風に記載されていますね。
最後に、内容が理解でき、新しい単語も知ることができたら、必ずCambridge Dictionaryか、Macmillan Dictionaryで例文を読むようにしてください。そして一番シンプルで、自分が日常使いしときやすそうなもをノートやスマホに書き溜めておいてください。そしてこれを移動中の時などに声に出して覚えることが本当に大事です！（電車では難しいので、僕はよく歩きますw）
